Indywood Fashion Premier League held in Hyderabad

The Indywood Fashion Premier League took place in Hyderabad from December 2 to 4 at the city’s Hitex Exhibition Centre and celebrated fashion from across India.

The Indywood Billionaires club (IBC) organised the Indywood Fashion Premier League (IFPL) in association with the Indywood Film Carnival and the Government of Telangana. The event saw different fashion “teams” showcase their designs with each team being backed by a member if the IBC. Members of the IBC have business interests in the film and entertainment industries and each team represented fashion from different film territories.

“This is a one of its kind unique concept… inaugurated in the world of fashion,” said Abhini Sohan, the executive director of the IFPL at the commencement of the event. “From trendy to modern, Indian ethnic to international classy designs, IFPL will showcase collections from different territories and countries.”

“India will have never witnessed such an event where diverse fashion trends from different regions of our country shall be focussed on,” said Lakshmi Atul, the fashion show’s director and Mrs Grand Prix.

The runway shows were choreographed by Sham Khan who divided the fashion shows into national and international sections. Gagan Kumar, a fashion designer popular in Bollywood, presented an opulent traditional wear collection and other Indian designers involved included Jayanthi Ballal and Santosh Kumar. The Iranian designer Toktam Rezaee’s designs also graced the runway.
