The Sshrishti India Trust, through its Women’s Empowerment Programme, runs a vocational training center in tailoring and handcrafting to give the women from this area a revenue generation option through their skills.

As part of the partnership, the women of Bhatti Mines will make garment bags using Indya’s surplus fabrics. The bags made by these women will be sold on the Indya website and its exclusive stores across the country.

Commenting on the collaboration, Tanvi Malik and Shivani Poddar, co-founders of Indya, in a joint statement said: “In order to uplift women as a community in this country, their participation in the workforce is extremely critical. We are excited to partner with Sshrishti India Trust to support their initiative of fostering self-sufficiency in the women of Bhatti Mines.”

“By giving these resilient women trade opportunities, we are providing them with a stable livelihood. We are hopeful that this exercise will help economically uplift this group and take them a step closer to a better future, and a life of dignity,” the designers added.

Indya currently has 27 exclusive-brand outlets across the country and is also available at over 250 shop-in-shops across Central, Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, and Globus.
