High Street Essentials opened its first Hyderabad Indya store on September 27, bringing its India brick-and-mortar flagship total to 22. The store opened in Forum Sujana Mall and is the fifth Indya store to open this month.

Indya’s first flagship store in Hyderabad - Indya

Indya, High Street Essentials Private Limited’s women’s ethnic wear brand, opened its doors in Hyderabad on Friday. The store measures 653 square feet and houses the brand’s range of traditional and fusion wear including kurtas, pants, skirts, saree drapes, and tops.

The store opening also marked the launch of Indya’s collaborative collection with designer Nikhil Thampi, “Nikhil Thampi x Indya.” The collection mixes Indya’s own take on Indian heritage designs with Thampi’s signature modern design aesthetic.

“Hyderabad has come of age as a fashion destination,” High Street Essentials’ co-founders Shivani Poddar and Tanvi Malik said, according to the brand’s press release. “The women shoppers of the city have a discerning sense of style and there is now a wider acceptance of global trends. Indya as a brand is centred around interspersing new-age silhouettes with an old-world femininity, aligning perfectly with what our audience in this city is looking for.”

High Street Essentials is currently pursuing an omni-channel expansion strategy for Indya. The brand currently has over 200 offline retail locations including both exclusive business outlets and a presence in multi-brand outlets across India.

Poddar and Malik launched High Street Essentials in 2012. The business runs Indya as well as the western wear brand FabAlley and plus size brand Curve.
