Indo-Russian Friendship Celebration 2020 to showcase folk fashions and handicrafts
From March 7 to 8, the Indo-Russian Friendship Celebration 2020 will feature folk fashion and handicrafts to strengthen cultural ties between the two nations and promote business exchange.
The upcoming IRFC will feature a range of stalls for Indian and Russian businesses at Janpath Lawns, IGNCA in New Delhi, the event announced on Facebook. The pop-up market will feature fashion, accessories, jewellery, art, handicrafts, gift items, beauty products, home décor, watches, and food. Featured brands will include Excitement Kids Wear and Creative Textiles.
The event will also feature an array of performances and showcases of traditional folk costumes. Partner artist Rifma Cellc will perform a range of Russian fairy tales in traditional garb to promote cultural exchange.
The event is not designed to celebrate the 'Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership' between India and Russia, according to the event’s title partner Brah Mos. Dance performances, interactive Devanagari and Cyrillic calligraphers, Russian cuisine, and live music will provide entertainment.
The event also aims to promote bilateral trade between the two countries. According to the event, both nations aim to increase Indo-Russian bilateral trade from $9.4 billion (Rs 62,535.9 crore) in 2017 to $30 billion, in 2025.
The event’s outreach partner is Paytm Insider, and its travel partner is Tripoto. IRFC’s communication partner is Auto X and its publicity partner is Hindustan Publicity.
