Jul 19, 2017
Haute Events will bring 25 Indian designers’ creations to the runway from the 28th to the 30th July in the South African metropolitan hub.

The runway show will take place at the Square Boutique Hotel in uMhlanga, Durban, a major centre of retail and fashion in South Africa. The idea was conceptualised by Nafeesa Joosab, a businesswoman from Pietermaritzburg and the owner of the Haute Events brand, along with designer Haroun Hansrot and Durban businessman Faisal Supariwala.
The aim of the event is to bring Indian fashion over to South Africa and start a dialogue between the two creative centres. Many big names in Indian fashion will be included in the show as clothing is being imported and will be shown on the runway from designers such as Manish Arora, Neeta Lulla, Malani Ramani, and Pia Kataria.
Eshaa Amiin has been picked to style the show and she has previously worked on high profile events in her role as head stylist for Miss India as well as styling Bollywood names such as Karishma Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Amiin stated that she was excited for her “first venture into Africa”.
The show will feature a catwalk, VIP evening with some of the designers, and then a two day long shopping event where guests will be able to purchase the clothes for the first time in Africa.
