As India steps into the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the demonetisation blues looked to be well and truly over. However, designer Althea Krishna is planning to bring back the blues with her collection ‘Demonetisation’.

Althea plans to revive the memory of demonetisation with her collection, which includes a line of clothes created using the print of the old 500 and 1000 rupee notes at the Hyderabad Sailing Week fashion show titled Regatta Ball on Saturday.

The show will get a patriotic touch as sailors from the Indian Navy will walk the ramp alongside models wearing the Demonetisation collection.

"As a civilian, I'm excited to do this show as it gives me an opportunity to work with the sailors. It gives me a feeling of patriotism since the Indian Navy is doing so much for our nation. I thought it would be a great idea to contribute from my side as my collection is wearable and inspired from a nation move of demonetising Rs 500 and 1000 notes," said the designer in a statement.

Krishna's demonetisation collection has been created using 60 per cent organic cotton weft and 40 per cent Tussar silk warp for the sheen.
