Indian brand Blackberrys eyes Rs 900 crore turnover

India’s leading premium menswear brand Blackberrys is planning to expand its retail presence across the country by adding 70 stores in a bid to boost sales of its new launched casual wear range Blackberry Urban and eyeing a turnover of Rs 900 crore in the current financial year.

Blackberrys had unveiled its Urban collection last month with an aim to enter newer territories in terms of target groups. The company is targeting the youth in the age group of 25-40 and plans to expand its product portfolio by introducing smart business wear, encompassing semi western wear, smart casuals and chinos to cater to this segment.
 
“We are looking at clocking Rs 900 crore (approx $140 million) turnover and growth of 25-30 per cent in the current fiscal. We plan to open 70 new stores by the end of this financial year," Mohan Clothing Founder and Director Nikhil Mohan told PTI. Mohan Clothing Pvt Ltd, a leading garment company in India is the owner of the Blackberrys fashion brand brand.

The company had reported a turnover of Rs 720 crore (approx $112 million) in the previous fiscal.

"We expect to achieve our growth target through expansion of our retail network and sales from new sub brand, the Blackberrys Urban," he added.

Blackberrys was founded in 1991 in the by lanes of Chandni Chowk (Moonlight Square), a famous market in New Delhi and currently owns around 205 exclusive stores and over 1,000 multi-brand outlets across the country.
