Indian Terrain Q4 profit down 9 percent to Rs 7 crore

Menswear brand Indian Terrain Fashions Ltd witnessed a 9 percent decline in its net profit to Rs 6.6 crore ($1 million) for the fourth quarter ended March 2019 as against Rs 7.3 crore it had reported during the same period last fiscal.

The company’s sales for the quarter grew by 10 percent to Rs 119 crore as against Rs 108 crore during the previous quarter ended March 2018.
 
For the financial year 2018-19, Indian Terrain posted a net profit of Rs 26 crore ($3.8 million) with sales revenue of Rs 422 crore.

On the back on strong financial results, Indian Terrain has planned massive expansion in the coming years and plans to open around 150 new outlets across India.
 
The brand is confident to strong sales going forward post the appointment of Indian cricketer MS Dhoni as its brand ambassador and will be opening stores through the franchise route.
 
 “The company will be expanding its retail footprint to 300 outlets from the current 150 outlets. The bulk of the expansion will be through the franchisee route. The company will expand into markets in north, east and west. We will also expand our presence in the southern states,” said Indian Terrain managing director Charath Narsimhan.
