India’s first-ever jewellery exhibition held on board cruise vessel Karnika

Mumbai Port Trust, in association with the Ministry of Shipping, has organised the first-ever jewellery exhibition on board a cruise vessel -- ‘Karnika, owned by Jalesh Cruises.

The four-day jewellery exhibition started on January 6 and will be on till January 9. The exhibition aims to promote cruise tourism in the country, among the business and leisure fraternity.
 
Commenting on the exhibition, Sanjay Bhatia, chairman of Mumbai Port Trust in a statement said: “This is the first-ever jewellery exhibition in the world that is being held onboard a cruise. We are in an exciting phase of the travel and tourism industry and are confident that cruise tourism will play a vital role in the sector’s rapid growth.”

“We are proud of setting a benchmark via this exhibition. Karnika has been chartered for four days and will be cruising in the Arabian Sea, bringing the concept of business and pleasure under one roof,” he added.
 
Exhibitors and retailers from India, Bangladesh, Istanbul, Dubai, and Kuwait are showcasing their collections at the event.
 
Some popular brand names on display are Malabar Gold and Diamonds Group, Joyallukas Pvt Ltd, Arabian Gold & Diamonds LLC, Damas Jewellery, among many others.
