The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts will hold a Virtual Buyer-Seller Meet from January 27 to 29, to showcase Indian-made goods to buyers from Nordic countries to promote exports.

The EPCH has turned its focus to Scandinavia for its upcoming virtual event - EPCH- Facebook

The upcoming EPCH Virtual Buyer-Seller Meet aims to link Indian handicrafts manufacturers with buyers specifically from Nordic countries Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, it announced on Facebook. Featured product categories will include fashion such as apparel, textiles, home furnishings, furniture, and home décor among other items.

The virtual event aims to showcase traditional handicraft techniques from across the country including handloom weaves and tribal traditions.

The online event will take place in partnership with the Embassies of India in Denmark, Finland and Estonia, Sweden, and Norway and is part of the Union Government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign to increase domestic production and exports.

The EPCH held its first-ever online buyer-seller meet last year in reaction to cancelled trade shows, due to government regulations designed to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Following a high buyer turn-out, the organisation has continued with this format, especially as many countries still have travel restrictions making it difficult for foreign buyers to travel to India at present.
