The recent ‘India-Bangladesh Stakeholder's Meet’ was organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and inaugurated by Goyal. The event was streamed on the Indian Chamber of Commerce’s YouTube channel and saw various dignitaries express the need for strengthening the bilateral relationship between India and Bangladesh to boost trade.

In his address, Goyal praised the Textile Industry Forum, which has been set up between India and Bangladesh for facilitating stronger textile trade ties between the two countries. Goyal said that Bangladesh’s textiles, jute, leather, and footwear industries have significant investment potential.

“We have over 350 Indian companies in Bangladesh now,” said Goyal in his address. “Our friendship has not only stood the test of time but has now blossomed into multifaceted, mutually enriching relationship with deep collaboration in trade, investment, food security, and technology.”

Goyal also said there is a need to work on maintaining an uninterrupted supply chain between the two countries and facilitating the joint production of defence equipment. The medicine industry was also named as worthy of investment in Bangladesh.
