India has imposed anti-dumping duty of up to $528 per tonne on a Chinese polyester yarn used in automobile and other industries for five years.
The move followed a probe into alleged dumping of Chinese high tenacity polyester initiated by the commerce ministry’s Directorate General of Anti-dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) after complaints by domestic players.
The finance ministry imposed the duty — in the range of $174-528 per tonne — on the industrial yarn used for manufacturing tyre cord fabric, seat belt webbing, ropes, coated fabric, conveyor belt fabric and automotive hose, a news agency reported quoting a ministry notification.
