India fastest growing market for Celio in FY18
The French menswear brand Celio* has named India as its fastest growing market for the financial year 2017 to 2018.
“Celio has grown consistently over the last nine years, with the last fiscal year marking India as the brand’s fastest growing market,” Satyen P Momaya, the CEO for Celio at Future Fashion Pvt. Ltd. India, told Images Retail Bureau. “The brand stands for high-quality fashion merchandise offered at very sharp price points, making it an attractive proposition for today’s discerning male consumer. This has also helped us garner a huge fan base from conventional style seekers while also appealing to the progressive consumers.”
Last year, Celio started its franchise model and began to open shop in shops to reach a total of 310 points of sale across India. Celio also recently went omni-channel in India and is investing in its digital strategy in the country.
The brand is confident that the coming years will continue to see the brand expand in India.
“In the next three to four years, we expect it to be the third largest subsidiary of the 50-plus countries Celio is present in,” said Momaya. “In the next five years, the brand will continue to expand its footprint in India both online and offline.”
Celio was launched in France in 1985 by Maurice Grosman and his wife. Beginning life as a women’s ready to wear brand, the business switched to menswear due to demand. The brand currently has 500 stores in France, including its headquarters, and 1,140 retail outlets in over 50 other countries.
