India Designer Show champions up-and-coming designers at second edition in Delhi

India Designer Show held its second edition in Delhi and presented collections by an array of the city’s up-and-coming designers on the runway in an event designed to promote Indian craftsmanship and design.

The event was organised by Modern Stage Events By Ronit Aggarwal and featured runways shows by designers including Rosy Ahluwalia, Kailash Chand Warq Wala by Sanjay Mittal, Coco by Bawa by Surjeet Bawa, and Amit Talwarr, APN News reported. The event featured a diverse array of fashions from party wear for Gen Z to jewellery inspired by Lord Krishna.
Shalini Poddar showcased her 2022 spring collection for brand Aashvik Opulence on the runway. Mixing traditional motifs with a youthful aesthetic, the designer’s first collection was playful and bright. Bare and Blur by Arshi Singhal also presented a youth-focused collection of sorbet-hued party wear.
“We ideated this platform to create a common global stage where our extremely talented Indian designers showcase their gorgeous collections highlighting the Indian culture and sophisticated glamour,” said event organiser Ronit Aggarwal, APN News reported.
“Happy and honoured with another successful edition, we aim to take this platform to global recognition with a strong Indian root showcasing the intricate handwork and craftsmanship.”
Other highlights of the show included an Indo-Western fusion collection by Coco by Bawa by Surjeet Bawa, an Indian designer based in Australia and contemporary, wearable looks by AS Couture by Yashika Nijhawan. Poshak Bridal Emporio by Monika Bhatia showcased wedding wear and Bollywood celebrity Stefy Patel closed the show as the showstopper.
