India Circus opens fifth store in Colaba, Mumbai
Accessories and lifestyle brand India Circus opened its fifth brick-and-mortar store in Colaba Causeway, Mumbai, on Wednesday evening.
India Circus has brought its eclectic and modern take on Indian design to Colaba, Mumbai, the brand announced in a press release. The store officially opened on October 16 and brand founder Krsnaa Mehta attended the launch event.
The new store measures 410 square feet and houses the brand’s latest collection of accessories such as bags, laptop covers, and purses as well as homeware items including cushions, printed glasses, candles, and lamps. Other items on sale include printed trays, plates, textile items, decorative statues, and mugs.
The store’s design reflects its brightly coloured aesthetic with warm lighting, a chequerboard floor, and printed wallpaper. The storefront also makes a strong statement with a magenta signboard and faux-grass lawn.
"So so happy to announce that we are now open in the heart of Mumbai’s busiest and most loved market; in Colaba Causeway,” said Mehta after the opening, according to the brand’s press release. “The store is a stone's throw distance from the Taj Mahal Palace and the Gateway of India, we are located in the historic Cusrow Baug building. The store has been quite busy since it launched."
Krsnaa Mehta launched India Circus online in 2012 and, following its acquisition, the brand has been a Godrej venture since September 2018. With its acquisition of India Circus, Godrej plans to expand the brand across the country and simultaneously strengthen its own lifestyle brands segment.
