Vanilla Moon plans to focus on expanding its operations in the UK market and will use its new funding to open a 1,300-square-foot UK headquarters in central London in March, Fashion United reported. The business plans to use the headquarters as a new permanent base for Vanilla Moon which will enable it to expand its online retail operations across both the UK and Europe.

“We’re delighted to be opening our new UK based headquarters so we can continue our mission to expand our digital presence and share our footwear with a larger audience,” Vanilla Moon’s founder and managing director Gautam Mehra said in a statement, Fashion United reported. “The support from HSBC UK has been invaluable in allowing us to grow in the UK and Europe.”

The business will begin recruiting employees for its new London site and will create five UK-based roles and around 40 new jobs in India. The business aims to widen its customer base and boost sales with the new headquarters.

Vanilla Moon launched in 2007 and manufactures mid-market to high-end women’s footwear. The business aims to replicate the growth of its sister brand Jvam in Japan in the UK and European market.
