“100 glorious days of the India Pavilion shining bright at the Expo2020 Dubai,” tweeted Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution and Textiles Piyush Goyal. “The world is witnessing #IndiaAtDubaiExpo as a hub of innovation, growth and opportunities. Visit the Pavilion to experience the grand celebration of India's growth story.”

The India Pavilion at Expo2020 in Dubai was inaugurated on October 1, 2021 and recently launched ‘Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) week’ and ‘Tourism week’ in the space, the pavilion organisers announced in a press release. J&K Week focuses on promoting the area’s culture and speciality products.

Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has held meetings with global investors as part of the initiative to promote J&K as having a wealth of business opportunities in order to boost its exports. Fashion designer Manish Malhotra also visited the pavilion as part of its promotional activities along with Bollywood celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, and Jaaved Jaaferi.

In the upcoming weeks, the India Pavilion will include participation from states including Goa, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu among others. The pavilion will highlight sectors including textiles, environment and sustainability, and tribal affairs among others.

Expo2020 is a global fair and was originally scheduled to launch in 2020 but got postponed due to Covid-19. The organisers chose to keep the name Expo2020 for marketing purposes and launched the fair in October 2021. The event will run until March, 2022.
