India Fashion Awards to hold second edition in February

The India Fashion Awards will hold its second season on February 20, 2021 to recognise designers, models, and individuals who have contributed to the Indian fashion industry.

The upcoming awards ceremony will feature categories including ‘Emerging Fashion Designer of the Year’, ‘Trendsetter of the Year’, and ‘New Age Model of the Year’, among others. The jury for the upcoming edition will feature member of parliament Maneka Gandhi; fashion designer Rocky S; models Lakshmi Rana and Sonalika Sahay; fashion photographer Hemant J Khandelwal; and actors Rajneesh Duggal and Varun Rana, among others.
 
“The prime focus of this initiative is to commercialise the creativity of the unsung heroes of fashion and eventually recognise them on a global platform,” said India Fashion Awards founder, Sanjay Nigam, in a statement.

“The aim of India Fashion Awards 2021 is to support local fashion and individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry and highlight them in global market.”
 
The India Fashion Awards also plans to hold events ‘The 7 States’ in August 2021 and ‘India Fashion Awards Summit’ in December 2021, according to its website. The events’ partners include Volvo, Kiko Milano, The Singleton, and DLF Avenue, among others. 
 
Winners at the 2020 edition of the India Fashion Awards included Neeta Lulla, who won designer of the year for Indian bridal wear; Ensemble, which won best multi-designer store; and Gaurav Gupta, who won designer of the year by popular choice.
