The first ever edition of India Design Week saw celebrity showstopper Ajaz Khan and his bodyguards accused of rioting and assault at a fashion show.

Former Big Boss contestant Ajaz Khan and his six bodyguards allegedly attacked the India Design Week show director Sam Abdul Shikur Khan at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi during the event, India Today reported. The Vashi police registered a first information report against the actor and his bodyguards detailing rioting and assault.

"Mr. Khan was asked to arrive at the venue at 9 p.m., but showed up at 7.30 p.m,” a police officer told The Hindu. “When he was made to sit with the audience in the front row, Mr. Khan and his bodyguards picked a fight with the organisers. They wanted to know they were not given a special room."

The alleged fight also involved model Pankajkumar Rajendrakumar who was injured, as reported by India Today. Khan, who was also accused of singing vulgar songs and filming models without their consent, has denied allegations and told the Hindustan Times that the event was poorly managed.

“The models were not provided food, water or AC,” Khan told the Hindustan Times. “I heard some people arguing over the payments as well. The organisers then called bouncers and a fight broke out between them and the models. I tried to stop them.”

India Design Week featured an array of designers from across India and, save for the Khan incident, ran smoothly. Designer Arjun Kumar showcased a collection with celebrity showstopper Gaurav Sharma on April 30 and Next-gen designers were also given a platform from which to launch their brands.
