Ikea launches its shopping app in the Indian market

Swedish home furnishings retailer Ikea has launched its shopping app to strengthen its reach and customer base in the Indian market.
 

The new app will allow customers from cities like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Baroda to shop for over 7,000 Ikea products from the comfort of their homes.
 
Commenting on the launch of the app, Kavitha Rao, country commercial manager at Ikea India, in a statement said: “We are very excited to announce the launch of the Ikea app for the many people in India. The app launch is a part of Ikea’s omni-channel approach to meet the many people of India. It will be through a combination of big Ikea stores, smaller city-centre stores, and online platforms.”

“Ikea will continue to focus on building stronger digital capacities and expand to more cities to meet 100 million people in the coming years,” she added.
 
Ikea had entered the Indian market with its first retail store in Hyderabad in August 2018, and since then has expanded to cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune by opening online stores. The company had recently opened its second store in India at Navi Mumbai.
