In his new role, Iyer will report to Ikea India’s CEO and chief sustainability officer Susanne Pulverer as part of the business’ India leadership team, Ikea announced in a statement on July 7, the Economic Times reported. As CFO, Iyer will work on areas of the business including legal, tax, business navigation, customs, finance controlling, and business risk and compliance among other areas.

“We are focusing on our priority markets and building a strong home furnishings foundation through our omni-channel expansion to be more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for the many people,” said Iyer in a statement, ET Bureau reported.

Prior to working at Ikea India, Iyer held multiple positions at car manufacturer Volvo Group in both India and Sweden. Iyer has over 22 years of experience in financial leadership.

Ikea is owned by Ingka Group, also based in Sweden. Former Ikea India CFO Dhupar will move into a global position within Ingka Group.
