IIJS Premiere 2021 to launch in Bengaluru this September
The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council will hold jewellery trade show IIJS Premiere 2021 in Bengaluru from September 15 to 19 and recently held a roadshow for the event in New Delhi in association with the World Gold Council.
As part of its endeavours to boost Indian gem and jewellery exports, the GJEPC will hold its trade show IIJS Premiere outside of Mumbai for the first time ever this September, the association announced on its website. The upcoming trade show will bring together jewellery manufacturers, buyers, wholesalers, exporters, and related businesses at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre next month.
The GJEPC and WGC recently promoted the trade show in New Delhi with a roadshow attended by jewellery brands and associations from the area. The roadshow was designed to encourage jewellery brands to sign up for the upcoming trade show.
“The financial year has started on a positive note with Q1 recording a growth of 8.46% to Rs. 67265.66 crore [$10.1 billion] as compared to the pre-pandemic year 2019,” said GJEPC chairman Colin Shah at the roadshow.
“The month of July 2021 also recorded a growth of 27% to Rs. 24881.52 crore compared to FY 2019. With IIJS Premiere 2021 in September, it will further boost the sentiment of the industry. It is an opportunity for buyers to restock their inventory before the start of the festive season.”
The WGC also took the roadshow as an opportunity to launch a set of industry best-practice principles entitled ‘Swarna Adarsh Abhiyaan’ and inspired by The Retail Gold Investment Principles.
“These Principles are designed to set the bar for product providers across the global retail gold market and further encourage retail investors to place their trust in gold,” said Somasundaram PR, the regional CEO for WGC India.
“The RGIPs will provide high-level, best practice principles for providers of all kinds of retail gold investment products and, through their adoption, ensure the highest levels of fairness, transparency and integrity is instilled across the market.”
To date, over 1,300 businesses have registered for around 2,500 stalls at IIGS Premiere next month. The trade show will follow strict health and safety measures as per the Karnataka Government’s norms.
