IHGF 54th edition to launch on October 14 with over 3,000 exhibitors
From October 14 to 18, the India Handicrafts and Gifts Fair will showcase over 3,000 handicrafts exporters from across India at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.
The five-day business-to-business fair will hold its Autumn 2022 edition to showcase product categories including fashion, textiles, lifestyle and furniture to a domestic and international audience of wholesalers, retailers, and sourcing consultants. The event will feature over 2,000 new products and over 300 design expressions, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts’ director general Rakesh Kumar said in a press release.
“The exhibition will have emphatic representation of craft manufacturing hubs and clusters, stationed in 16 halls in the Expo Centre and 900 permanent showrooms in the Mart area, making this a comprehensive sourcing point,” the event organisers announced in a press release. “Artisans from pan India will be stationed in thematic presentations will be among attraction for the visiting overseas buying community.”
The trade show expects buyers to visit from over 100 countries including the US, UK, UAE, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, China, Kenya, Luxembourg, Malaysia, and Mexico among others, which have already pre-registered for the fair. Brands which have already confirmed their attendance at the fair include Dukaan Home from Argentina, Landmark Group from the UAE, Flower Power from Australia, and Gommaire NV from Belgium among others. Indian businesses including Flipkart, Fabindia, Shoppers Stop, Good Earth, Reliance Retail, and The Bombay Swadeshi Stores are also scheduled to attend among others.
In the 2022 financial year, India’s handicrafts exports totalled Rs 33,253 crore, according to the EPCH. This represented 29.49% growth in rupee terms compared to the 2021 financial year.
