From November 8 to 10, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s International Gem and Jewellery Show will showcase Indian jewellery brands to buyers from 25 countries. The trade show will take place in Dubai.

The GJEPC will hold a second edition of its Dubai trade show next month - GJEPC- Facebook

For its second Dubai edition of the IGJS, the GJEPC expects to draw a crowd of around 350 international jewellery buyers from across the globe, the GJEPC announced on Facebook. The trade show is designed to boost Indian jewellery business’ exports, expand their international retail network, and take advantage of the recent India-UAE trade deal.

“India is known for its craftsmanship, which was displayed at IGJS Dubai,” said Obaid Alsaadi of Idn Obaid Jewelry, Saudi Arabia about the previous trade show, the GJEPC reported. “The designs, especially set with fancy cut diamonds, were globally appealing.”

The India-UAE CEPA has ensured nil import duty on exported jewellery from India to the UAE. For this reason, the GJEPC is encouraging Indian jewellery businesses to take advantage of this trade deal and expand their businesses in Dubai.

“We were very impressed and inspired by the GJEPC show in Jaipur this past May and are very excited to follow up in fantastic Dubai,” said Amelie Riech of Uncommon Matters, US.

The trade show is supported by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Department of Commerce and the Dubai City of Gold initiative. The GJEPC closes application for booth space at the trade show on October 14.
