The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s International Gem and Jewellery Show drew buyers from across the world and featured fine jewellery businesses from across India. Following feedback from buyers, the GJEPC is confident that next year’s edition will be even bigger.

The trade show was the second edition of IGJS in Jaipur and it ran from April 1 to 3 at the Jaipur Marriott Hotel. The event drew a crowd of buyers from countries including the US, UK, and Australia among others and a recurring sentiment found in interviews with international trade visitors was that the versatility of Indian jewellery designs will bring even more global buyers next year, according to the GJEPC.

“Many international buyers have been interacting with Indian jewellery manufacturers,” the GJEPC announced on Facebook in April 5. “However, before visiting IGJS, they never came across the diverse range and superior quality jewellery designs they have witnessed at IGJS Jaipur. They also felt that even though the show this time focused on one-on-one meetings, it allowed them to connect with the sellers on a deeper level. Next year they are eager to participate again.”

IGJS Jaipur was designed to facilitate one-on-one meetings between jewellery manufacturing businesses and global buyers to secure trade deals and contribute to boosting Indian jewellery exports as a whole. The event was supported by the Government’s Department of Commerce.
