The runway show, which took place last week, saw budding INIFD designers create festive themed designs for a contest. The designs were modelled by children and all had a festive theme. The designer Farah Jahan was announced as the winner of the contest and designer Gargi was the runner up of the show and also won the best draper award. Naina and Mahima were selected as the best designers of the show and Rakshita Jaiswal won the Best Ramp Designer award. The Radio Jockey RJ Veera hosted the event and Mahua Chatterjee, Mrs. India Panache and the entrepreneur Rishabh Jaiswal were the event’s main judges.

This fashion show allowed the INIFD to reach out to the Lucknow community and engage parents and children in their activities. The show was heralded as a success and aims to return again next year. The INIFD Lucknow is currently engaging in a number of community outreach programmes such as offering free fashion design taster classes to those who wish to explore the industry.

The INIFD describes itself as the world’s largest network of design institutes and is the official partner of India’s Lakmé Fashion Week. The institute was launched 18 years ago and has branches across India.
