The key in Mishra’s collection were grey, white, and black and a monochrome gingham also featured on many of the garments. Models had simple hair and makeup to allow the structure and draping of the clothing to dominate. The show’s special guest was Adhun Akhtar who not only walked the runway but also started an impromptu dance on it.

The show was part of IMG Reliance’s Restart Fashion initiative that aims to increase sustainability in the fashion industry. The brand has previously used organic cotton in its designs but for this season, Mishra worked with Recca, a recycled cotton fabric that is sourced from Anandi Enterprises in Tamil Nadu, to create recycled cotton herringbone and check weaves.

Mishra explained that the idea of sustainability also shaped the collection’s colour palate and said: “Black and white, two opposing forces yet complementary, work together to bring balance, inherent to the concept of sustainability.”

The collection included shoes by Zara and jewellery by Romana Singhani and the front row included guest Neha Dhupia who is a well-known patron of the brand.
