Ruchika Sachdeva, the founder and creative director of the fashion house Bodice, will lead a talk on 'Humanising the Fashion Industry' as part of Hyderabad Design Week this October. Sachdeva is the winner of the 2018 Woolmark prize and pioneers sustainable fashion through her designs at Bodice. Other speakers scheduled to take part in talks during Hyderabad Design Week include Dezeen founder Marcus Fairs, Eight Inc. founder Tim Kobe, and Cristiano Ceccato of Zaha Hadid Architects.

The festival will also see over 20 locations in Hyderabad transformed into 'Design Districts' to feature a wide range of art. An interactive map of the districts will be produced in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad and the initiative aims to get residents inspired by their city and showcase art by street artists and instigate conversations on everyday life.

The event will be held in tandem with the 31st edition of the World Design Assembly, which will take place in India for the first time since its inception. Both events will look at how design can be used to have a positive impact on the world around us, especially with the current ecological challenges it faces.
