The Dubai-based makeup artist Huda Kattan’s brand Huda Beauty has entered the Indian market with an exclusive partnership with India’s leading beauty platform Nykaa.

The country’s largest omni-channel multi-brand beauty platform Nykaa is rapidly scaling up its operations and partnering with international labels in its quest to attaining profitability in the next financial year.

Nykaa.com reported a net revenue of Rs 214 crore (approx $33 million) and gross merchandise value (GMV) of Rs 275 crore (approx $42.4 million) for the financial year 2016-17.

Nykaa is optimistic that brands like Huda beauty will help boost sales of its premium and luxury segment which currently contribute 20 percent to the company’s revenue. The Huda beauty collection will officially be available across Nykaa stores and on its online portal from January 6, 2018.

“If there’s one person who deserves the title ‘beauty mogul’, it’s Huda Kattan! With her social media stardom and her own beauty line that sells by the second, she’s truly a superstar and we are proud to bring her make up onto Nykaa.com,” Falguni Nayar, CEO & Founder, Nykaa.com said in a statement.

Kattan represents a generation of social media beauty influencers who have broken into mainstream channels. Kattan began her Huda Beauty brand as a beauty blog in 2010 and launched her makeup line in 2013 with a collection of false eyelashes before expanding to liquid lipsticks and eye shadow palettes.

Nykaa was founded by former investment banker Falguni Nayar and offers global beauty brands such as M.A.C, Clinique, Estée Lauder and Bobbi Brown among many others.
