Masaba Gupta’s fashion and lifestyle brand, House of Masaba, has announced new measures and initiatives across its stores to prevent the spread of coronavirus as the label increases its home shopping services.

House of Masaba flagship stores across India’s metros will now feature a range of new hygiene measures, the brand announced on Facebook on March 14.

Stores will now house ‘hygiene stations’ at the entrance and cash counter and fitting rooms will be regularly deep cleaned. The brand is one of the first to announce specific hygiene measures following the government’s increased measures against the virus.

The brand is also encouraging shoppers to make purchases online through its e-commerce store or through the messaging service WhatsApp. As a number of states are beginning to impose safety measures in malls such as closures, some clothing stores may find they are no longer able to open.

“As we continue to monitor the novel coronavirus situation, we want to keep you posted that we are taking the necessary steps to ensure hygiene and safety for all our customers across all our stores,” wrote the brand.

“We understand that many of our customers would still prefer to stay indoors. In that case, our online store is always open for you.”

House of Masaba has flagship stores in a number of metros including Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi. The brand recently released its spring/summer 2020 collection as an online exclusive with a wide range of new custom prints.
