House of Masaba opens new store in Bandra

Masaba Gupta’s fashion and lifestyle brand House of Masaba has opened its largest flagship store to date in Bandra, Mumbai. The new store has a conceptual design and houses the brand’s full selection of clothing, accessories, and makeup. 

Gupta co-designed the new store with Bangalore-based design firm Restore, the brand announced on Facebook. The interior takes the bindi as its main point of inspiration and large, deep red tikas hang from the ceiling while others feature the brand’s logo. “For me, that bindi is not just a circle. It's a centre of consciousness,” said Gupta about the design choice. “It serves as both a nazar ka tika as well as something that can immediately ground you.”
 
The store has a more minimal and conceptual design compared to its other addresses but houses the same diverse selection of products. Red hued occasion wear is displayed on mannequins to fit the store’s aesthetic while a rainbow palette of garments hand from colour coordinated racks throughout the space. 

The store also has a dedicated segment for Lovechild Beauty, Gupta’s recently launched makeup brand. A television screen displays products in use and a wide selection of colour cosmetics and nail polishes are displayed in the brand’s signature bright packaging. 
 
“As we enter a new era of retail experience, our new destination is an intimate one,” said Gupta about the launch. “A reflection of my personal style, it is vivacious and lively but also zen. It is a blank canvas for the burst of emotion and colour that my work brings.”
