House of Masaba introduces new logistics predictions as stores close
Masaba Gupta’s fashion and lifestyle brand has closed down all of its flagship stores and introduced new online shopping measures, as India battles the spread of Covid-19.
House of Masaba’s flagship stores in metros including Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata are now temporarily closed, as the brand has taken its own steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus, it announced on Facebook.
Although malls and shopping centres are closed across Tamil Nadu, Haryana, and other states, other stores were still allowed to open when the brand made its decision to close up shop on March 20.
“To be aware and responsible is the need of the hour amidst the outbreak of Covid-19 and hence, we have decided to shut down all House of Masaba stores from 20th March until further notice,” the brand announced on Facebook.
“This step has been taken in the interest of our customers’ as well as our employees’ health and safety. While you may not be able to visit our stores, you can still shop our collection [online]... Your orders will be shipped once situation improves and operations resume.”
The brand currently expects online orders to be shipped in around two weeks, hoping to resume logistics work soon. As states enforce various kinds of shutdowns, delivery logistics for ‘non-essential’ items are expected to be delayed. The brand is promoting its online services across its social media platforms along with its recently released spring/ summer collection.
House of Masaba was one of the first large-scale luxury fashion brands to announce measures taken against coronavirus, when it installed ‘sanitation points’ in its flagship stores across India, as well as other preventive measures on March 14.
