House of Anita Dongre invests in Altigreen

Designer Anita Dongre’s family office House of Anita Dongre has invested in Indian electric vehicles business Altigreen as part of its commitment to sustainability.

“We’re excited to take this journey forward with the team at Altigreen,” said House of Anita Dongre Limited chairman, Mukesh Sawlani, in a press release. “We believe and concur with their mission and vision of making Indian cities more breathable again.” 
 
The investment will contribute to Altigreen’s aim of achieving the Union Government’s plan to make Indian transportation completely electric by 2030. Neither business has disclosed the total of the investment which was announced on May 25. 

“We are delighted with this investment,” said Altigreen’s Amitabh Saran in a press release. “House of Anita Dongre is a well-renowned pioneer of sustainable and earth-friendly practices in India’s fashion panorama. Their investment is a testimony of Altigreen’s successful endeavours towards a better and clean future, one vehicle at a time. It will extend the horizon of investments in EV solutions beyond the traditional funds, while helping us achieve our mission of reducing India’s carbon footprint by making road transport completely electric,”
 
Altigreen designs and develops electric vehicles focused on the needs of the Indian market as well as other emerging markets. According to the business, it aims to make carbon-free transportation accessible. 
 
House of Anita Dongre is known for its sustainable garment manufacturing supply chain. Founder Anita Dongre works with craft clusters and sustainable materials across India to create designs for her various clothing brands.
