Honasa Consumer Private Limited plans to hire 200 new employees across its business this year and foresees strong growth for its personal care brand Mamaearth, which crossed an annualised revenue run rate of Rs 500 crore ($75.2 million).

“So we right now, we are about 300 people and by the end of this year, we'll be at about 500 people,” Honasa Consumer’s co-founder and CEO, Varun Alagh, told the Press Trust of India.

“Of these, 100 people will be a part of the offline retail team and the others will be spread over other functions - growth team, D2C team, customer service, marketing team and others.”

Seeing strong demand from metros and tier 1 and 2 cities, Honasa Consumer brand Mamaearth expects to double its annualised revenue run rate in the near future. By having achieved a Rs 500 crore run rate, Mamaearth, which launched less than four years ago, is one of the fastest personal care brands in India, according to Alagh.

“Our next ambitious milestone would be Rs 1,000 crore but let us see when we are able to hit that,” said Alagh.

“The growth last year was 400 per cent-plus... Rs 1,000 crore is our next milestone.”
