Hindustan Unilever Q3 net profit rises 19 percent to Rs 2,300 crore

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) witnessed a 19 percent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 2,300 crore ($309.3 million) for the third quarter ended December 2021, as against Rs 1,983 crore it reported in the year-ago period.

The company's revenue for the quarter grew by 10 percent to Rs 13,196 crore, as against Rs 11,969 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
 
HUL’s total expenses were at Rs 10,329 crore for the quarter, as against Rs 10,129 crore in the year-ago period.

Commenting on the Q3 results, Sanjiv Mehta, HUL's chairman and managing director in a statement said, "The company has delivered a strong and resilient performance in the quarter despite moderation in market growth and significant levels of commodity inflation. I am particularly pleased that the growth is extremely competitive with our market share gains being highest in more than a decade. Our performance is reflective of our strategic clarity, strength of our brands, operational excellence, and dynamic financial management of our business."
 
"We remain confident of the medium to long term potential of Indian FMCG sector and HUL’s ability to deliver a consistent, competitive, profitable and responsible growth,” Mehta added.
 
Hindustan Unilever is the country’s largest consumer goods company and is expecting stable demand for the next financial year.
