The company’s revenue during the quarter also rose by 7 percent to Rs 10,114 crore in comparison to Rs 9,487 crore it had reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Commenting on the results, Sanjiv Mehta, chairman and managing director at HUL in a statement said, "Against the backdrop of moderate market growth, HUL has delivered a resilient performance driven by the expansion of our consumer franchise, improvement in portfolio mix and sustained growth in margins."

"We continue to make good progress on our strategic initiatives to make sustainable living common place and build a business which is purpose-led and future-fit," Mehta added.

HUL said that its beauty and personal care products performance was steady during the quarter with personal wash witnessing a muted delivery in the popular segment.

HUL is a leading player in the country’s FMCG sector. Its beauty and personal care business has been witnessing strong growth in India and is the highest contributor to the company’s overall revenue.
