Hidesign India Pvt Ltd is looking to enter new international markets coupled with domestic expansion by adding 20 stores across India at airports and malls.

The company’s main focus will be to on entering new markets in Southeast Asia and growing the existing regions.
 
Hidesign has planned store openings in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Kuwait this year and will also be strengthening its presence in countries like the USA, Spain, and Portugal.

“Hidesign started out in California with about six stores selling our bags on Castro Street in the late 70s and is now an established brand in over 24 countries across Europe, America, Australia, and Asia. Internationally we have expanded in many new markets including Indonesia and Kenya while building up Hidesign in USA, Spain, and Portugal. The focus will be on entering new markets in Southeast Asia and growing the existing regions,” Dilip Kapur, founder and chairperson of Hidesign, told the Economic Times.
 
“We plan to open 20 new stores at airports and malls by this year December end. We will open stores at airports in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Indore, Jaipur, Goa, Varanasi and Kochi, while the other stores we plan to launch them in tier-II cities,” he added.
 
The brand has reported year on year growth of 20 percent and aims to finish this fiscal year (2018-2019) with a turnover of Rs 200 crore ($30 million).
 
Hidesign is present in over 25 countries and is internationally sold through a mix of independent stores, department stores, and on e-commerce sites. It distributes through 84 standalone stores in India.
