Hidesign to open 12 stores in major airports; launches travel collection with José Levy

Twelve of the 18 ​Hidesign store openings planned will be in airports, to add to its current total of 15 airport stores. The brand has also just launched a travel collection with the French designer José Levy entitled “Pondicherry Paris”.

The accessories brand currently has a network of 84 exclusive brand outlets and 150 shop in shops and will continue to expand through these two retail channels.

Along with continuing to open brick and mortar stores, the brand recently redesigned its branding to appear more clean and modern. The brand has reported year on year growth of 20 percent and aims to finish this fiscal year (2018-2019) with a turnover of Rs 200 crore ($30 million). The brand also recently launched in Indonesia and has 12 store openings planned for the country.

Hidesign, which was founded in 1978 in Pondicherry, retails accessories such as handbags and leather goods and, as part of its travel accessories line, has just launched a collaborative collection with the French fashion designer José Levy.

The collection is called "Pondicherry Paris" and features suitcases, travel document bags, and other accessories.
