Henkel has launched Henkel X in India

“Henkel X isn’t an accelerator or incubator, but a platform for collaboration between industries and peers,” Rahmyn Kress, chief digital officer at Henkel, told ET Tech. “While we don’t invest in these startups, what we give them is our time, trust and data to build solutions and in turn attract investment.”

Henkel has already launched the programme in Europe, the US, and China, making India its fourth market. Kress also reported that the business has held discussions with two Indian venture capital businesses to work with the companies they oversee. Kress explains that this could lead to investments in start-ups in some capacity.

Henkel is a chemical and FMCG company, headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany, that is organised into three businesses: beauty, laundry and home care, and adhesive technologies. Henkel runs a number of beauty brands including Schwarzkopf, Dial, and Syoss. The business was originally founded in 1876 and The business’ revenue and net income has risen consistently from 2013 to 2017.
