Helen Thompson, who was appointed at the Danish shoe brand Ecco nearly a year ago, stepped down from the company in July, it has been announced. The British executive resigned from her role as Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Asia, which she held from October 2014.

Thompson leaves Ecco at her own request, and for motives that could include differences in opinion on the shoe label’s future strategies.

As an interim solution, the Executive Vice President of the company, Michel Krol, will take over the duties the Regional Director EMEA, announced Ecco this week.

Helen Thompson, who managed the Ecco businesses from Amsterdam, was 12 years employed as Europe Region Director by the British shoe manufacturer and retailer Clarks. Previous posts included roles in Mothercare, Tie Rack and Etam.
