Hang Ten to enter Indian market with Bradford

Hang Ten has signed an agreement with Bradford to be its exclusive agent to enter the Indian market. The US-based surf inspired fashion and lifestyle brand will launch its full range of clothing as well as a number of new product categories.

Launched by surfer Duke Boyd in 1960, Hang Ten is set to bring its surf wear to India, ET Bureau reported. The brand’s casual wear, footwear, denim, and children’s wear will be licensed by Bradford with the aim of tapping into a significant growth opportunity. 
 
“Hang Ten’s vision is to be a globally diversified brand,” said Hang Ten’s CEO Marc Setton, ET Bureau reported. “The licensing model will thus help the brand establish a presence across a diverse range of areas, which is driven by a commitment to offer its customers cutting-edge, best-in-class products as well as increasing the Hang Ten community across India.” 

Hang Ten will retail a wide range of products in India, with numerous goods tailored specifically to the country’s market. Along with the brand’s line of surf inspired clothing, Hang Ten will also retail eyewear comprising frames and sunglasses and will also retail watches and smartwatches, a swift growing product category in India. 
 
A fragrance category will be dedicated to a range of perfumes, body sprays, and deodorants for men and women. By licensing its brand to Bradford, Hang Ten is able to expand into swift growing product categories in which it is not yet established in its home country. 
 
“In India, the licensing industry is expanding quickly and is a multi-billion dollar market globally,” said Bradford India’s CEO Sachin Goel, ET Retail reported. “Licensing is a simple method for a brand like Hang Ten to be part of the growth story because there is a significant demand in the Indian market for the categories that Hang Ten is delivering.”
