HUL Q1 net profit jumps 10 percent to Rs 2,061 crore

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) reported a 10 percent rise in its net profit at Rs 2,061 crore ($276.8 million) in the first quarter ended June 2021, as against a net profit of Rs 1,881 crore it reported in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 13 percent to Rs 11,915 crore, as compared to Rs 10,560 crore it had reported in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
 
HUL’s beauty and personal care division grew 13 percent during the quarter led by hair care and skin care products.

Commenting on the Q1 results, HUL chairman and managing director, Sanjiv Mehta, in a statement said: “In a challenging environment, we have delivered a strong performance across top-line and bottom-line. Our performance in the quarter has been resilient and is reflective of our capabilities, the agility in our operations, and the intrinsic strength of our portfolio.”
 
“Looking forward, we remain cautiously optimistic about the demand recovery. Our focus firmly remains behind delivering volume-led competitive growth and margins in a healthy range,” he added.
 
Hindustan Unilever is the country’s largest consumer goods company and is expecting stable demand for the next financial year.
