H&M has unveiled a kidswear print collaboration with Paris-based Nathalie Lété, an artist known for her illustrations, textiles, ceramics, and paintings.

The capsule features several of her “colourful and poetic” artworks as prints on a wide range of children’s clothing and accessories, which launches this month in selected stores worldwide, as well as online.

The company has made something of a speciality of print-based collaborations in recent periods, last summer linking up with British heritage interiors brand GP & J Baker for womenswear, featuring archive prints.

The latest collab includes pieces for babies and children with a wide range of “vibrant” T-shirts, jackets, jeans, dresses, jumpsuits, shorts and swimsuits.

The prints are based on animals and florals with the starting point having been the artist’s acrylic paintings, the designs then being “artfully arranged together to create an imaginative and fun story.” That means a tropical jungle with chameleons and tigers, along with her signature representation of flowers with cats, birds and rabbits.

“In my work, I create a fantasy land for myself,” she said. “A land that I want to share with other people to make them dream. It's all about flowers, animals, birds, naivety and colours. I want to create a cocoon that brings happiness and harmony all around. The relationships between the different elements tells stories, stories that create a beautiful atmosphere.”
