The news store is located at Phoenix Palassio Mall and spread over an area of 21,600 square feet with two floors.

“H&M is excited to continue our expansion in the Indian market even in these unprecedented times with our very first store in Lucknow. We are optimistic that H&M’s business concept of fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way will work very well. With all social distancing norms and safety measures in place, we look forward to welcoming customers to our new store,” Amit Kothari, head marketing and communications at H&M India, said in a statement.

H&M entered the Indian market in 2015 with its first store in Delhi and currently has 48 stores in India across cities such as Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Amritsar, Indore, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Mohali, Mysore, Ahmedabad, and Raipur.

H&M will continue to expand its physical stores in India although it is closing down 250 stores globally, as it sees huge potential for growth in the Indian market. The company plans to open one more store in Bhubaneswar this year.
