The Gujarat government has signed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with two apparel bodies—the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and the Intimate Apparel Association of India (IAAI) to promote garment sector in the state.

The MoUs were signed in presence of chief minister Vijay Rupani during a roadshow in Mumbai for Vibrant Gujarat 2019.

The ninth edition of the investment summit, Vibrant Gujarat, will be held from January 18-20, 2019, in the state capital Gandhinagar.

“We are expecting good response this year. We expect delegates from 110 countries this year,” Rupani told media persons after the roadshow.

The edition last year saw participation of over 30,000 delegates from 100 countries. Around 25,000 MoUs were signed in various sectors during the event.

At the upcoming event, too, 25,000-30,000 MoUs are expected to be signed.
