Shubman Gill on the runway for Gujarat Titans by KGL - Gujarat Titans

Kanika Goyal’s brand KGL used Gujarat Titans imagery to create colourful, relaxed athleisure and streetwear for the first launch of this design collaboration over the weekend, the brand announced in a press release. The Gujarat Titans’ batter Shubman Gill walked the runway as the showstopper wearing a casual, graphic ensemble including a retro style orange sweater, textured denim, and a shiny black jacket.

“Gujarat Titans have always believed in standing out and engaging with our fans in different ways,” said Gujarat Titans’ COO Arvinder Singh in a press release. “As a part of our plan to bring our fans closer to the team, the partnership with Kanika Goyal is another step in that direction. It was wonderful to see Shubman, our up-and-coming young cricketer, as the showstopper at this one of its kind event.”

The runway show took place at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex and was also streamed online. The showcase was the first instalment of the streetwear line, with another launch planned for the near future.

“It’s been exciting to bring together the worlds of cricket and fashion with this collection, which is athleisure infused with the undying spirit of cricket fans,” said designer Kanika Goyal in a press release. “The KGL team and I enjoyed watching the collection come to life on the ramp and we hope the fans enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”

“At Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, we have always believed that innovative and out-of-the-box collaborations open doors towards a fashion-forward world that in turn elevate the Indian fashion ecosystem,” said Jaspreet Chandok, Rise’s head if fashion and lifestyle. “Our association with Gujarat Titans this season, which forges a relationship between India’s most loved sport and the country’s most prestigious fashion event is a testament to that commitment. We are elated to see this partnership come to fruition on the runway and excited to launch the new apparel range which will surely excite cricket fans from across the country.”
