Gucci names Alia Bhatt as global brand ambassador

Luxury fashion brand Gucci has named Bollywood celebrity and actress Alia Bhatt as its new global brand ambassador. Bhatt has travelled to Korea to attend Gucci’s Cruise 2024 runway show, scheduled to take place in Seoul on May 16.

“I’m honoured to represent the house of Gucci not only in India but at a global stage,” wrote Bhatt on Instagram to announce the partnership. “Gucci’s legacy has always inspired and intrigued me and I’m looking forward to the many sartorial milestones we create together.”

Bhatt shared her first photoshoot with the brand in her role as global ambassador, styled in tailored separates for a sleek look. Bhatt will join other brand ambassadors including Harry Styles, Dakota Johnson, and Hanni from the Kpop group New Jeans at the Gucci fashion show at Seoul’s Gyeongbokgung Palace on Tuesday, Pink Villa reported.

As well as her various brand endorsements, Bhatt runs her own brand, a children’s wear and womenswear label named Ed-a-Mamma, which focuses on sustainable production. This focus on creating caring communities is likely part of the reason Gucci chose to work with Bhatt, Lifestyle Asia reported. The actress also recently attended the MET Gala in New York, US wearing a custom Prabal Gurung gown.
