From Friday, over 100 clothing, accessories, crafts, textiles, and lifestyle brands will retail their latest collections for the winter season at free business-to-customer shopping event The Souk, the event announced on Facebook. With a focus on Kannur Cotton and Chanderi textiles, the event aims to promote handloom textile products in the city at its upcoming second edition.

The market will also feature vintage and silver jewellery from Jaipur as well as a range of crystal jewellery and ornaments. Gift items and live entertainment will also feature as well as products for upcoming Christmas, New Year, and Pongal festivals.

Grand Flea Market organises shopping events across India and held the Bangalore Utsav flea market in October to bring clothing, jewellery, and textile brands to Bengaluru for the festive season. The business also runs Artisans Bazaar events to promote handicrafts.

An increasing number of shopping events are shining the spotlight on handloom textiles in India. With more designers using sustainable weaves and government support through its “Make in India” campaign, handloom’s momentum appears to be continuing to speed up.
