Government to launch 24x7 helpline for exporters
The Union Government will launch a 24x7 helpline number for exporters to help them tackle issues swiftly. The government also launched the ‘Vanijya Saptah’ campaign for exporters on Monday.
Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal announced on September 20 that the upcoming helpline for exporters will enable them to have their complaints quickly addressed and escalated to a higher level if required, ET Bureau reported. The government had previously run a 24x7 helpline for traders during the Covid-19 pandemic and, due to its success, has decided to launch this new initiative, it said.
Goyal announced the upcoming initiative at the launch of the National Vanijya Saptah at the Noida Special Economic Zone. The export campaign will run in around 749 districts to boost infrastructure and exports, said Goyal at the event,Asian News International reported.
“Through Vanijya Saptah we are reigniting the confidence of our exporters and business community, said Goyal, ANI reported. “We have to improve our quality and productivity and by use of technology, our focus should be to make our products of international level.”
The event also enabled industry players to ask Goyal questions about industry and one issue which was brought up was the shortage of containers in India for exports.
“Shortage of containers is a global issue despite this our government is trying to bring some solution and increase the availability of containers in the country,” Goyal responded.
