As local lockdowns across India begin to reopen and ‘non-essential’ retail begins to restart, Good Earth has opened the majority of its brick-and-mortar stores in the country on week days, the business announced on Facebook. As its stores reopen, Good Earth has launched womenswear collections by Crow and Kishmish with dedicated segments for the sustainable brands.

Crow’s latest collection ‘Spectacular Summer’ is made from handwoven cotton textiles and has a colour scheme of burgundy and green with mismatched stripes and relaxed silhouettes. The minimalist garments feature subtle details such as pockets, cuffed sleeves, and smocking and garments include tunics, day dresses, and tops in oversized shapes.

“A balance of ease, style and function, Crow honours the comfort of the wearer while embracing the raw nature of exquisite craftsmanship,” said the brand’s designer Shaila Khubchandani, Good Earth posted on Facebook.

Khubchandani launched Crow in 2011 and is inspired by traditional textile communities across India.

Kishmish’s latest womenswear collection ‘Slow Relationships’ is equally relaxed with natural fibre textiles, floaty tailoring, and delicate button details. The brand, which works with a small team of artisans, mixes pops of bright yellow and coral to compliment more neutral tones tunics, tops, sets, and shift dresses. The brand has also recently launched a line of homeware including water bottles.

Rekha Bhatia and Nikki Kalia launched Kishmish in 2009 as a slow-fashion label. The brand has gone on to also offer bespoke services and uses its scrap textiles for upcycling projects to reduce waste. Good Earth also shared Kishmish’s new upcycling project, ‘The Bird Series’ which uses textile scraps to create tactile masks.
